Responsibilities

My daily work load is split about 50/50 between leadership responsibilities and designing and coding beautiful homepages and custom pages. I love the mix of activities this brings to my day, the opportunities to collaborate closely with others, the chance to think strategically and manage projects, as well as the time spent focused on creativity and coding.

In addition to daily design and front-end development work, I make an impact in the following ways:

  • Maintaining our library of showcase designs and coordinating the creation of new design options.
  • Making decisions regarding workflow, policies, and procedures for the Design Onboarding team.
  • Overseeing and helping to review tickets in the Onboarding design work queue in Jira, mainly consisting of new homepages, content migrations, and homepage redesigns. Ensuring issues are effectively prioritized.
  • When necessary, stepping in to address problems with Design requests to resolve conflicts and mitigate communication issues.
  • Handling the assignment of expedited issues and following up on their completion as needed.
  • Evaluating completed design work by team members to ensure a high level of quality.
  • Communicating and collaborating with other members of leadership throughout the company.
  • Assisting with interviewing candidates, training new designers, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Developing documentation and knowledge base articles.
